I am no expert, but this is the process I followed to repair a 2 foot tear on the seam of my mertailor spellbound named Murigen. I learned a lot and I am grateful to have some new skills under my belt. I think learning to care for our equipment is one of the most important parts of being a professional mermaid. Reduce, repair, reuse, recycle - and that goes for all of our costuming as well, I think! I can't wait to perform in Murigen once again next Sunday, April 21st at @discoveryworldmke with shows at 11 and 12:30. She has been out of commission since December 2023! Below is the list of materials I used. If you have any questions, let me know I would love to answer them! ๐ ๏ธ headlamp ๐ ๏ธ mineral spirits ๐ ๏ธ pool noodle ๐ ๏ธ rags ๐ ๏ธ pliers ๐ ๏ธ mica powder ๐ ๏ธ rubbing alcohol ๐ ๏ธ Fireline ๐ ๏ธ curved needle ๐ ๏ธ Silpoxy ๐ ๏ธ PPE (gloves, mask) ๐ ๏ธ mixing cups ๐ ๏ธ popsicle sticks ๐ ๏ธ pins Big thanks to @mermaidmagnolia @mermaidmezzie and @crowcaw_fx for your advice and guidance through this process! #repair #tutorial #mermaid #echo #mermaidtail #diy #silicone #smoothon
