Really grateful to have collaborated with @SarahAndersenComics on this. It dropped yesterday on our IG accounts. See her full post/caption here: βMy whole life I have preferred public transit to driving. Recently, I was able to team up with @pedestriandignity to create this graphic to raise awareness about public transit issues. The most frequent transit routes outside of a city or town center are often some of the most unsafe and inaccessible. People who rely on or choose to take transit are daily darting and risking their lives to catch the bus, to get home from the bus stop, or waiting for the bus in the road because the bus stop is inaccessible. Many of these buses may still not arrive for 30 minutes to an hour or longer - esp. if it is at night or on a weekend. It is also common for bus stops to not have shelters or benches. Be a part of the change and start documenting and reporting unsafe and inaccessible transit routes to your town, city, county, and elected leaders. Whether you move by foot, wheelchair, bike, bus, or car, we all deserve safe, dignified, accessible, and comfortable transportation networks. Follow @pedestriandignity to learn more!β : image caption: (1) parent and child stand right next to high-speed car traffic on a broken sidewalk with no safe place to cross next to an uncovered bus stop, (2) parent and child sitting in covered bus stop off from the road with accessible crossing surrounded by greenery, (3) #1 and #2 combined. #PedestrianDignity #MobilityJustice #BusStop #Pedestrian #SarahAndersen #Transit
