to be transparent: this has been by far my HARDEST ramadan 😭 i don’t know what it is but mentally, physically, emotionally i feel like i’ve been so depleted. usually when i work or have a lot to do ramadan goes a lot easier and quicker but for some reason this ramadan has not been the same. this ramadan has definitely put me back on my routine that i feel like i had been going off of. it's also been cleansing my soul, and given me overall tranquility. i think WHY it’s been so hard for me, is because i feel like before ramadan i had gotten of my routine, adopted some bad habits (like binge eating, over/undersleeping, procrastinating, etc) that the WITHDRAWALS & the sudden discipline are what’s hitting me right now 😆 and i’m trying to also “fast my tongue” like not engage in gossip or curse during this time so i’ll start a conversation and i’ll just abruptly end it when i realize it’s gossip or if im being negative with my words or thoughts 😭 and with my sleep schedule i sometimes have problem getting up in the morning so sometimes i will just stay up till the first prayer around 5:30am and all of that combined is what’s hard is because i cope with stress with eating snacks and sleeping throughout the day and i literally can’t do either lol 🤣! but all in all, every time I leave, Ramadan I always feel like the best version of myself and I look forward to this reset every single year ❤️ also, here are some definitions and explanations from the video ⚡️: ramadan = holy month for muslims wudu = specific way we clean ourselves before prayer (washing hands three times, swishing water in mouth, around ears, etc) suhoor = the meal you eat before you start your fast tahajjud = optional prayer you do in between the last prayer (night time) and first prayer of the day (morning time) fajr = first prayer of the day qibla app = direction of where we pray (towards the grand mosque in mecca, saudi arabia) dhuhr prayer = second prayer of the day we break our fasts with a date because that’s the way the prophet did it iftar = the meal we use to break our fast as always let me know if you guys have any questions! there’s no such thing as a stupid question i promise! 🥹 #ramadan #ramadanvlog #nursingschool #muslimstudent #ramadan2024 #nursingschool #muslimah
