I still remember my grandfather waking us up early to go knock on doors to make sure people were registered to vote. And this was the 80s and 90s. He had been doing that since he was able to vote. And by the time that I was born the town that I grew up in was all Black. We didn’t have a Black History Month because Everyday was Black history. it was important that our family taught us coming up what they had been through and witnessed and how we could make a difference. - #hilarious #funny #blackhistory #family #history #mississippi #familyhistory #love #ancestors
