Can you tell I was bored? Oh man! 😅 Thursday Health Update (4/4): After repeat negative cultures, IR placed a new triple lumen tunneled IJ on Friday (3/29). It took hours of them digging around in my chest, multiple puncture sites due to scar tissue issues/line kinking, and then they ran out of anesthesia mid procedure. Traumatizing as it may have been, it’s a total miracle they got a line in at all, so I’m doing my best to focus on that. But of course the fun doesn’t stop there. My new line then wouldn’t stop bleeding for nearly 2 freaking days! A combo of surgicel, lots of pressure, a 10lb sandbag on my chest, extra sutures, a bunch of lidocaine/ epinephrine injected at the site, many amazing nurses, and a very kind and patient IR fellow, eventually got it under control Sunday afternoon. Now that I have a brand new clean line, home is finally in sight! It takes quite a bit of coordination with my outpatient infusion pharmacy and home health to get all our ducks in a row, but it’s looking like it’s coming together. 😆🎉 I’m not back to my baseline yet and had some scary cardiac issues last night, caused by electrolyte imbalances. (You can see a few baby PVCs on the heart monitor in the TikTok lol) Good news is we stopped the amp b causing the electrolyte drops, but the bad news is I tend to have delayed drops and we can only draw labs so often at home, so please pray I remain stable. Thank you all so so much for all the love and prayers. Your kindness and support means more to me than you will ever know. #teamtricia #terminallytricia #bacteremia #fungemia #vascularaccess #intestinalfailure #mito #eds #mcas #cvid #tpn #centralline #trach #tracheostomy #ventilator #lifesupport #respiratoryfailure
