When I was in my early 20s, I had TERRIBLE gut issues. I had just gotten off taking oral antibiotics for my acne for 6 years — yes, you heard that right, my dermatologist at the time put me on oral antibiotics for SIX YEARS. My gut health was a mess…but thankfully it was a moment to learn about the importance of gut health. Now, I take it very seriously for myself and the whole family so we can look and feel our best. FERMENTED PROBIOITC RECIPE - 1 large bag of organic frozen berries - 2-3 S. Boulardii probiotic capsules DIRECTIONS: - Add berries to med pot w/ 1/2c water and bring to a boil - Once boiling, reduce heat to low and let simmer for 30min - Turn off heat, let sit and fully cool to room temperature - Transfer berries to a large bowl - Add 2-3 S. Boulardii capsules by opening them up and sprinkling the microbes onto the berries - Cover and place the bowl in the oven. DO NOT turn oven on. Just turn on the oven light for a little bit of warmth - Remove after 36-48 hrs - Transfer to glass jars, do not fill up to the top, leave some space as fermented foods will grow *Recipe from Dr. Alberto Villoldo’s Grow A New Body book. SMOOTHIE RECIPE - 5 cups of leafy greens (Kale or spinach) - 1/2 c parsley - 1/2 banana - 1/2 c frozen pineapple - 2 apples - 1 kiwi - 1 c of Almond Milk - Handful of blueberries (optional) *Top with chia seeds and raw cacao nibs Hope this was helpful!
